Red Bandit – 4.1% ABV
A warm ruby ale based on a traditional recipe with spicy berry aromas. Legend tells of the Red Bandits of Mawddwy; a notorious 16th century band of ‘flame haired’ outlaws who roamed the hills ambushing travellers as they crossed the high pass between Dolgellau and Dinas Mawddwy. Fabled to be the most lawless part of Wales at that time, the area remains a beautiful but still desolate point today.
They are an independent micro-brewery that started brewing in 2012. Based in the picturesque town of Dolgellau their name is inspired by the dramatic Cader Idris Mountain which overlooks the town and the beautiful Mawddach estuary in Snowdonia, North Wales.
Brewing by hand in small quantities using traditional methods, they combine the finest ingredients with the distinctive local Welsh Water to give to give each ale its own individual flavour and aromas.
